Academic Year Abroad

Academic Year Abroad is a very exciting program in many developed countries to foster cross-cultural unification. The states in the US as well as in Europe have been into this program for many decades already and results were positive enough to understand that the program is very successful.

Those who studied abroad in your locality could testify how exciting this program is. If you study abroad you can learn many things and not only the education that you wanted overseas. There are now many study abroad program available in America, Spain and other developed countries of the world which have similar purposes – of learning academic education as well as learning the cultures of foreign countries. What makes this program very exciting is that many students will experienced their many “firsts” overseas. Most especially if you study in the US or in Europe where technology and science is amazingly interesting. Even a one year in your academic year abroad program is already worth a million experience of a lifetime. Maybe it would give you your first experience to have a foreign teacher. If you studied primary and secondary education in your hometown with over a hundred local teachers, maybe this time you will be hearing the voice in front of you coming from your first foreign professor. It would really be very exciting to experience your many “firsts” during your college year abroad.

One of the very exciting programs abroad is the AYA program or Academic Year in America. Under the AYA program a student from foreign countries will be hosted by an American family during the course of the study. Of course, the family could choose from among the students. They will be sent the AYA students’ list as well as family background all information pertaining to the student.After carefully choosing a student which suits the host family’s preferences they would start hosting the student starting in August of every year and until June 30 of the following year.

As a host family to the AYA program, the family will be receiving the AYA fund or what is also known as Cultural Activity Fund in the total amount of $300 for the whole year. The whole family is also given the benefit for a study abroad program under AYA to different accredited countries such as Spain, Germany, Austria, Ecuador, France, Chileand Netherlands.
